Intercepts from general equation for JEE

Intercepts of a line on the co-ordinate axis

Formula

\(ax+by+c=0\Rightarrow x\text{-intercept}=-\dfrac{c}{a},\ y\text{-intercept}=-\dfrac{c}{b}\)

Variables: \(a,b,c\) are constants.

Conditions: Need \(a\ne 0\) for \(x\)-intercept and \(b\ne 0\) for \(y\)-intercept.

Finding intercepts directly from line equation.
